Empowering Educators with Awards and Supporting Individuals Impacted by Glioblastoma Brain Cancer with Resources

Mission

We envision a future where:

  • All educators feel empowered and appreciated to passionately educate at their highest ability in an environment free of bureaucratic interruptions
  • All individuals and families impacted by glioblastoma brain cancer can quickly educate themselves on all care and treatment options currently available.

Our Story

Melanie, or Mel as her friends called her, was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend, educator and overall beautiful soul. Mel’s smile was infectious while making others around her feel loved with a hug and an “I love you”

Scholarship

Melanie was a primary school educator for nearly 30 years. Her passion was to help young people become the best they can in life. To continue her legacy, the Live Like Mel Foundation supports future and current educators by offering three distinct annual awards.

Resources

Melanie was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme brain cancer in December 2018 and unfortunately passed two months following her diagnosis. We help families understand the wide range of treatment options available to eliminate hours of research time.
